Last Friday, Westview Boys Cross Country team traveled to Mahoney State Park for the Platte River Rumble. With 20 teams in the competition, this was Westview’s biggest meet of the year so far.
Westview’s Varsity squad finished in 16th place out of 18 teams despite having a runner go down to injury during the race. JV on the other hand finished sixth out of their 20 opponents.
JV runner, Cameron Bailey, 10, placed first out of all JV runners at the meet. Bailey ran his personal best (PB) time completing a 19:11 3-mile race.
“I felt good coming into the race, and I knew if I didn’t burn out at the start, I was going to have a great race,” Bailey said.
On Varsity, Colin Krahling, 12, ran an impressive 16:25 3-mile, finishing in 12th place. Ryan Sturgeon, 12, also had a strong run, finishing with a new PB of 17:26.
