On October 20, Westview’s Reserve Football Team played their last game of the 2025 season. The Wolverines faced the Benson Bunnies, ending their season with a 41-0 win.

Throughout the first quarter of the game, it was a stalemate, with turnovers and punts from both sides. There was only one first down during the quarter and most of the yards came from kick and interception returns.
After the slow start, Westview picked up the pace towards the end of the second half with back-to-back touchdowns before the break.
Kael Beutler, 10, led the Wolverines with two receiving touchdowns and over 75 yards receiving. His connection with quarterback Landen Bader, 10, put the team well ahead to breeze through the rest of the game.
At running back, Mauricio Granados Bermudez, 10, and Cayden Sessions, 10, both punched in their own touchdown, keeping the offense rolling from the air and ground.
On the Defensive side, the Wolverines had two fumble recoveries and over five turnovers on downs, keeping the Bunnies from getting on the board.

The Wolverines dominated the Bunnies despite being short-handed due to injuries from the long season to many Westview players. For many positions, there was only one sub for the entire game, meaning they had their work cut out for them in their season finale.
Returning back from injury the week before, Davis Vontz, 10, was back playing a crucial role in the game after his concussion injury earlier in the season.
Although football players wear many pieces of protective equipment, completely preventing injury is impossible. Concussions are one of the more dangerous injuries, with risks of permanently damaging your brain.
“Because it was my third concussion from football, it was scary knowing how bad it could be, but I’m happy that I’m back and still able to play,” Vontz said.
Vontz played most of the game on offense and defense and had a big impact for the team, including a 50+ yard reception.
With the season coming to an end for reserve and varsity wrapping up soon, this game was the beginning of capping off a great year for Westview football.
