Before the football game against Omaha South on August 29, Freshman Academy held their first Freshman Tailgate as part of their annual team competition.
In the end, Team Black walked away with a point, having the most students attend at 62.
Team Blue, Team Black, and Team Orange gathered together for food, games, and activities.
“The teachers made it really fun and everyone had a great time,” Team Orange member Alea Wegner, 9, said.
This marks the third year of freshmen tailgates at Westview. They typically have one during football season and one during basketball season. “
Sporting events are a great way to build school culture and we want our freshmen to be a part of it right away,” Freshmen Academy lead Maggie Heuerman said.
Throughout the school year there are different games, events, and competitions that give all 3 freshmen teams the opportunity to earn points. The team that has the most points by the end of the year gets a celebration.
