On Tuesday, September 23, Westview Cross Country ran in the huge 24 team Creighton Prep XC Invite.
Westview Boys had a strong meet with a fourth-place finish for Colin Krahling, 12, and great runs from the JV squad. They finished sixth in the varsity competition as a team.

Ryan Sturgeon, 12, finished 32 out of the 110 varsity runners, with the second fastest time for Westview’s squad. Freshman Jackson McQuilllan finished just behind him in 34th place.
“Even though I did not have my best race, we had some big JV PRs, and our team as a whole is improving every day. State as a team is definitely possible this year,” Sturgeon said.
JV runners, Victor Rozier-Epting, 10, Ben Ferguson, 12, and Axel Hererra, 11, all finished the race with new personal record (PR) times. Along with this, the JV team earned three medals with, Rozier-Epting, Hamdoul Erdimi, 12, and Colton Ulffers, 9, all finishing in the top fifteen runners.
Moving over to the girls meet, the Wolverines finished in third place with three varsity medalists.
Lucy Fierro, 12, finished in sixth place out of the 63 runners, medaling alongside her teammates Stella Williams, 12, finishing eighth, and Ella Padomek, 11, finishing twelfth.

“I feel like this season I have been making lots of improvements especially in comparison to last season. I am really happy with my performances and our whole team,” Padomek said.
Nearing the end of the season, both Westview Cross Country teams are preparing for the upcoming OPS Championship XC Invitational on Thursday, October 2, and the Metro Conference XC Championship on Thursday, October 9.
