The University of Nebraska-Lincoln has reached an agreement with Washington’s athletic director, Troy Dannen, to take up the role of director of athletics for the Cornhuskers.
The six-year deal, finalized last week, comes as a replacement for Trev Alberts, who recently departed for Texas A&M University.
According to Huskeronline.com, Troy Dannen led the Huskies’ athletics for only five months, but he oversaw Washington facing Michigan in the College Football National Championship, and the following search when head coach Kalen DeBoer moved to Alabama.
Troy Dannen also was the athletic director at Tulane and Northern Iowa.
The hiring of Dannen comes as Nebraska still does not have a permanent president, raising questions on who exactly is hiring the Washington AD.
