The Westview Wolverines won in dominant fashion against the Benson Bunnies on Tuesday, 85-55.
Kalyn Bailey led the way in points, racking up 15 points on 75% shooting, with Stella Williams not being far off.
Rebounding was distributed across the entire team, with everyone on the team recording at least one rebound. This is especially impressive considering all the centers that the Benson Bunnies have.
The turnover game is where Westview turned this entire game upside down. With almost every possession, Westview was getting a steal or would force the ball to go out of bounds. This led to the Wolverines getting fast break opportunities on almost every possession.
The Wolverines improved to 4-1 on the season, in which making a compelling argument on why they should be considered for this year’s state tournament. Meanwhile, Benson will take a 12-day hiatus, which will get them plenty of time to prepare for their next game.
If the Wolverines want to keep up these impressive performances, splashing 3-pointers and creating turnovers will be their key to success. There is a good mix of strong opponents coming up on their schedule, especially against Millard South and Marian.
Overall, it will be interesting to see how the Wolverines play and keep up this strong winning streak.
